RedRock M2 Depth of Field Adaptor
![]() Everybody is aware that there is a big interest in harnessing the video capability of the latest DSLR's, such as the Canon D5 and D7. There are many benefits from using these cameras, such as low cost and shallow depth of field, but there are draw-backs too; highly compressed H264 video; expensive prime lenses required to get the best look; more accurate focus-pulling required, which is difficult to achieve with an auto-focus lens; limited battery and data storage capacity; non-professional audio inputs.
So why not consider using a Depth of Field (DOF) adapter, to get the same "movie" look? Our Redrock M2 Encore DOF adaptor takes Canon FD stills lenses which are super sharp and have manual focus & aperture; included in the kit are a professional follow-focus unit and and matte-box. We are certain that you will not find any DSLR outfit that will produce higher quality images or be as user friendly. The camera included in the package is a Sony HVR V1E which shoots tried and tested HDV or DV-cam, (a much more robust and user friendly format than Canon's H264) and has 2 x XLR audio inputs. The Sony V1 is a 3 CMOS camera capable of capturing images at 25p or 50i. However just about any video camera is mountable with the M2 adaptor. Kit Comprises of:
